Mechanical Breakdown
You have made a large investment in a vehicle. Now, invest in a protection plan for that vehicle.

Are you worried about unexpected breakdowns and unforeseen costly repairs? Vehicles are built with thousands of specialized parts and hi-tech components. With the cost of repairs increasing an average of 5% per year, an expensive repair can be a financial burden.

A First Canadian Protection Plan (FCPP) can eliminate those worries. Choose one of our protection plans to guard you against these unplanned expenses.

Canada & United States Coverage

FCPP covers your vehicle anywhere in Canada and the continental United States.

Direct Response

FCPP will quickly and efficiently handle your claim. Repair costs are paid directly to the repair facility on authorized services, saving you from out-of-pocket expenses and the inconvenience of waiting for reimbursement.

Transferable Coverage

In the event you choose to sell your vehicle, the coverage is fully transferable to the next owner for the remainder of the Policy/Contract term. The Policy/Contract cannot be transferred if the title of the vehicle passes through an entity other than the subsequent buyer or your vehicle is sold/traded into a dealership, leasing agency, or entity in the business of selling vehicles.

Plans have a choice of $100 or $200 deductible per repair visit, plus applicable taxes, on all covered repairs. In the event the same component fails again, no deductible will be charged for its repair or replacement.

Reducing Deductible

The selected deductible will be reduced by $50 when your selling dealer carries out repairs.
Not available on Custom Coverage Plans.

Optional Coverage Available on Qualifying Plans

If you selected and paid for the Guarantee Price Rebate (GPR) Option Fee on an eligible plan or a selected plan with Experience Based Refund (EBR), you can apply for a rebate as soon as the policy/contract has expired by time. Rebates are based on the amount you originally paid for the Policy/Contract, up to a maximum claim amount of $2,000. Criteria for the GPR/EBR claim include:
  • Original plan holder must still be the registered owner of the vehicle.
  • No mechanical or other benefit claims were made during the entire term.
  • GPR/EBR claim must be received in the allotted time frame.
